# Private Snipes

> Make your snipe commands visible only to you

Worried about someone seeing who you're sniping in a public Discord server? Bloxiana has a setting that makes your snipe commands visible only to you.

## How private snipes work

When the **Private Snipes** setting is on, every time you use `/snipe` the bot's reply is an ephemeral message. The confirmation, search progress, and results are private, so only you can see them in the channel.

### Before: public snipe (default)

By default, anyone in the channel can see your snipe command and its results.

### After: private snipe (enabled)

With the setting on, the same command is only visible to you.

## How to enable private snipes

1. Run `/settings`. You can do this in any server that has Bloxiana, or directly in your DMs with the bot.
2. In the settings menu, click the **Private Snipes** button to switch it to **Enabled**.

That's it. Your `/snipe` commands will now be private by default. Run `/settings` again to toggle it off at any time.
